Coach Mike’s Drainage System

Mike is a longtime friend and he is actually the coach who recruited me to play football for Wheaton. He’s been an amazing mentor as well as an important part of the community. He recently reached out because he urgently needed drainage help for his yard.

Challengers.

This is an older home in the area and, due to poor drainage, Coach Mike’s sump pump was working overtime causing leakage, mildew, and other water damage in his basement.

Solution.

The team at Ware expedited a 24-hour fix that would address not only the leakage and over-taxed sump pump, but drainage as well. The first thing we did was install catch basins under all the downspouts, then we ran new lines and a release that would divert drainage down to the storm sewer in the street. Finally, we packed clay along the foundation to prevent moisture from seeping in and we carefully resodded the lawn. The new lines, filters, and drainage solution allowed the sump pump to function properly, preventing any further damage to Mike’s basement.
