That largely depends on the ordinances where you live. Many businesses are responsible for clearing sidewalks adjacent to their property. Though cities do clear major roads, they prioritize main highways and emergency routes, leaving your neighborhood road covered in snow for hours while the city works elsewhere.

HOW SOON DO I HAVE TO GET RID OF SNOW?

In Naperville, property owners are required to remove snow and ice from public sidewalks within 48 hours of a weather event. In other municipalities it may differ, but we usually advise to get rid of snow as soon as it’s safe to do so. If you hire Ware Landscaping for a full-season snow removal contract, we’ll monitor the weather and do property surveillance if necessary to ensure the snow gets removed in a timely manner.

HOW DOES THE SNOW REMOVAL CONTRACT WORK?

To get zero-tolerance service from a dedicated, in-house team, we ask you to sign a 1-year or 3-year contract. This reserves a team for your property when the snow starts falling. You only pay for the work we come out to do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer a snow contract for only 2”+ events?

No we do not. Only doing snow removal for 2”+ makes it nearly impossible to do a good job and results in ice build up and prone to slip and falls. It’s also impossible to staff for.

We only offer a zero tolerance approach and come out to service every predicted snow event. With this approach we are able to do a great job and retaining a wonderful staff.

Do you offer one time snow plows?

No we do not. We require signing up for either a 1 year or 3 year contract. With the 3 year contract you will get a discounted rate.

How does the pretreating work?

We will come out the night before to pre-salt to ensure safety during the morning hours. If snow starts accumulating later in the morning we will then come back out for a second pass to plow/shovel and salt. You will get charged for a pre-salting and then charged again for a plow/salt.
